Beyond Juicery + Eatery, a health conscious smoothie chain, is set to open a new brick-and-mortar at 279 Haggerty Road in Commerce Township by early November. The 1,600 square-foot store will be one of several quick-service, fast-casual tenants in a newly built retail plaza attached to the Midtown on Haggerty mixed-use development.

“In a sense, it’s going to be like a food court because there are about seven or eight vendors there and they’re all QSRs,” said Bobby Kasgorgis, one of the franchisees behind the new store.

Kasgorgis and his business partner Jason Najor already have Beyond Juicery + Eatery locations open in West Bloomfield Township, Troy, Novi, and Northville. The Commerce Township will mark the duo’s fifth store, bolstering their position as the chain’s biggest franchisee group in Michigan.

Kasgorgis spent 10 years in the pizza industry working for Domino’s. He left that world cheese and dough behind about five years ago to begin planting Beyond Juicery + Eatery locations across the metro Detroit suburbs.

“I just noticed that people are looking for a healthy alternative instead of pizzas, subs and chicken wings. So that’s what drew me to the brand,” he said. “I felt like it was the future. People are actually eating, drinking and living healthier.”

Beyond Juicery + Eatery is a growing brand known for its commitment to fresh ingredients and healthier options. Their menu includes wraps and sandwiches, salads handmade in-store, smoothies, sorbet bowls and made-to-order raw juices good for detox cleanses. The chain of neighborhood juice shops has at least 40 locations in Michigan and Ohio with more in the works to open across both states.

A Livonia outpost at 30110 Plymouth Road celebrated its grand opening in April.

The soon-to-come Commerce Township location is sited just north of 14 Mile Road, adjacent to the Newberry Square shopping center.

“We try to provide our customers with a healthier alternative to what they’re usually up against with fast food,” Kasgorgis said. “We always try to create a nice atmosphere for our employees and our customers. We actually want to be the best part of everyone’s day when they walk into our location.”
