The proposed Chick-fil-A is located on the north side of Ford Road between I-275 and Lotz. A Portillo’s is also proposed on the same side of the upcoming development. A bicycle parking bench and bicycle repair will also be installed next to the Chick-fil-A restaurant.

The planning commission shared that they were especially excited about the new Chick-fil-A. “I’ve spent the last few months…on the master plan advisory committee, and one of the things we consistently heard is that we need something in Canton that would draw people here and would have young people want to stay here and hang out and do fun things,” said Commissioner Sommer Foster, the Canton Township Board of Trustees representative on the planning commission. “I think this meets that need for a lot of people in our community.”

The Atlanta-based chicken chain currently operates 25 locations in Michigan. The nearest one is located at 20135 Haggerty Rd in Northville. The chain is also amidst development for a new restaurant in Sagniaw and another near Benton Harbor.
