Owned by Elliott and Rachel May, the new book cafe will feature everything from classic titles to new releases, accompanied by freshly made sandwiches and salads. For those needing somewhere to sit, chill, concentrate, and grab a quick bite, Novel is destined to be the perfect destination.

Site plans indicate that the project will convert the existing retail space at the address into a mixed-use retail and food business. The book lounge will feature a retail display case in the center and two book shelves on the walls. For seating, there will be sofas and lounge chairs throughout the main dining area.

According to materials submitted to the planning commission, Clarkson-based R.A. Ruth Architect spearheads site design, Mills & Associates in Livonia serves as food services consultant, and English Builders in Clarkson will oversee all construction and development.

The owners hadn’t replied to What Now Detroit’s email request for comments by the time of this coverage.
