Based on application materials, the new cafe will allow up to six cars to stack up in the driveway with additional spaces nearby for overflow stacking. The cafe will also provide 17 parking spaces for customers.

The new location is owned and operated by Michigan’s largest multi-unit Tropical Smoothie franchisee, Serve Hospitality Group. Founded by Michigan native Salem P. Najjar in 2016, Serve currently owns Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations in Detroit, Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee.

Florida-based Tropical Smoothie Cafe is ranked #33 by Franchise Times for its 2024 Fast & Serious list and has ranked for the 11th consecutive year. The chain is best known for its nutritious and tasty bowls and smoothies, but also offers grab-and-go food items such as breakfast food, sandwiches, wraps, and salads. According to the company’s website, the chain currently has over 1,400 locations in the United States.

There also appears to be an existing Tropical Smoothie Cafe diagonally across the street at 14595 Southfield Rd.
