Gourmet burger chain Savvy Sliders is continuing its march across the metro Detroit area with a new location planned to open soon in Farmington.

The company’s website proclaims an stand-alone outpost is coming soon to 22420 Farmington Road, just south of Highway 5 in the city’s central south alleyway.

West Bloomfield development firm Becall Group LLC is the mastermind behind the effort to reconstruct a shuttered TCF Bank and convert the 4,600 square-foot building into a Savvy Sliders restaurant and drive-thru.

It was not clear when the new restaurant will open. Steven Bacall, a partner at the West Bloomfield property management company whose spearheading the project, could not be reached for comment as of press time.

Detroit architects Stonefield Engineering & Design laid the blueprints for the transformation.

Savvy Sliders touts itself as the nation’s fastest growing slider franchise. The growing chain is known for its hand-breaded chicken fingers, fresh-to-order Angus beef sliders, seasoned French fries and fresh, frozen custard shakes.

Three new stores are planned to open soon in Florida and the company is breaking ground in Texas with four locations slated to debut this summer in that state, according to the company’s website.

The Farmington restaurant will be the northwest suburb’s first Savvy Sliders. It’s is one of 11 South Michigan locations in the planning stages for the fast-casual empire. Among them are outposts being planted in Rochester, Detroit, Flint and Southfield.

Savvy Sliders’ latest ribbon cutting came May 18 when the company celebrated the grand opening of a Farmington Hills location along 12 Mile Road.
