After years of wholesale partnership with Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo-based Water Street Coffee Joint is finally opening a brick-and-mortar location on the Garden Level of the hospital’s south campus location at 601 John Street. The Bronson location is anticipated to open in early 2024.
According to information disclosed on the coffee joint’s website, construction is currently underway for Bronson Water Street, which will be the brand’s seventh location. While the location is primarily designed to serve patients and hospital staff, it is open to the public and welcomes all visitors.
Like other Water Street Coffee Joints, the Bronson location is fully equipped to serve lattes, brewed coffee, loose-leaf tea, shakes, and smoothies. The location will also carry a seasonal food menu featuring a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches and burritos, scones, muffins, artisan sandwiches, salads, entrees, and desserts. The Bronson location is currently hiring for crews.
Water Street Coffee Joints is owned by Kalamazoo-local Mark Smutek and has been operating cafés in the Kalamazoo and Portage area since 1993. The company roasts all coffees in-house in small batches and creates its food using fresh seasonal products every day. The company also distributes wholesale coffee and services all over Michigan and surrounding areas.
