StoneFruit Social is a fusion of two sister brands StoneFruit Coffee Co. and Steel Valley Brew Works. StoneFruit Coffee, founded by Josh Langenheim, is an Ohio-based chain featuring organic fair-trade coffee roasted in-house with locations in Boardman, Youngstown, Canfield, and Poland. Ann Arbor will be the chain’s first location in Michigan. Years later, Langenheim opened Steel Valley Brew Works, a social lounge in Boardman, OH featuring beer, cocktails, coffee, and games all in one place.

“In an essence, Ann Arbor sought us out. A member of the landlord’s property group visited one of our cafes in Youngstown Ohio. When the need for a community-focused coffee shop/social space arose, they reached out. Needless to say, we were intrigued… once we saw the area, the space, and the community we simply fell in love. We cannot wait to serve Ann Arbor.” Josh Langenheim, Founder of StoneFruit Coffee and Steel Valley Brew Works, told What Now Detroit in an email.

The Ann Arbor StoneFruit Social will have a light food menu centered around small plates. The restaurant plans to serve custom breakfast sandwiches all day and unique appetizers in the evening. Since the business is a coffee shop during the day and a bar during the night, the hours will be quite extensive for everyone in the community from early birds to those looking for a fun nightcap. The business also serves a killer Espresso Martini that is a must-try for first-timers and returning customers.

“We aim to bring an elevated experience focusing on artisan coffee, specialty cocktails, and craft beer. A social space filled with good music and chill vibes. Something for everyone, a true date night out,” Langenheim said. “We are very proud and excited to showcase our coffee and cocktail creations with Ann Arbor! We are also eager to get invested in the community. We are not serving coffee – we are ‘brewing community.'”
