After much anticipation, Gilly’s Clubhouse and Rooftop will open in Detroit in early 2024 inside the Kay Baum Building at 1550 Woodward Ave. The clubhouse will be managed by Detroit-based hospitality group 7OH2 Hospitality. The new clubhouse, presented by Rock, the Gilbert family office, and Bedrock, is a tribute to the late Nick Gilbert’s legacy, according to an article in DBusiness Journal.

Gilly’s Clubhouse and Rooftop is a multi-faceted dining and entertainment venue sponsored by the Gilbert Family and its business interests to honor Dan and Janet Gilbert’s late son, Nick Gilbert, who passed away from neurofibromatosis. Nick assisted in creating the initial concept and design for the project. Adjacent to Detroit’s major sports venues and retail destinations, Gilly’s will provide an upscale experience filled with delicious food, quality beverages, and opportunities to watch your favorite sport on the big screen.

The managing partner, 7OH2 Hospitality, is a boutique hospitality and marketing company. The hospitality group is a collaboration between food and beverage professionals who have significantly impacted, if not shaped and defined, the dining and nightlife of Las Vegas, Cleveland, and Columbus since 2009.

“I have been fortunate to have projects in Cleveland and I came to know the Gilberts and Nick there. Nick’s story – and the family’s passion for Detroit inspired me and I am excited to be working alongside them on this very important project in downtown. People, Passion, and Purpose will always lead the way and Gilly’s is the first iteration of that for us.” Josh Lang, founder of 7OH2 Hospitality, told What Now Detroit in an email.

Additionally, Rock and Bedrock plan to unveil Detroit’s first-of-its-kind sensory-driven food and dining experience in early 2024, also in the Kay Baum Building. While there is no further information available at the moment, according to Lang: “In the words of Terrell Owens, ‘Get your popcorn ready’, it’s going to be a show.”
