Those worrying about Miller’s Bar’s future can finally let out a long-held sigh as the new owner will happily carry on the tradition and keep the restaurant open. Mallad tells Detroit News he plans to keep much of the dive bar’s aesthetics the same, and wax paper will remain the default vessel for the iconic Miller’s burgers. The restaurant and bar will also remain cash-only.

“We are privileged and honored to have the opportunity to continue the traditions of Miller’s Bar and the profound impact that Miller’s has had on the community,” Mallad said in a statement. “Everyone can expect the same atmosphere and the same exact traditions that the Miller family created. I will continue that amazing legacy.”

Miller’s has served the Dearborn community for over 80 years since its original establishment in 1941. Under new ownership, the bar will open seven days a week instead of the previous six. When the owners listed the business for sale, they were specifically looking for someone who’d be willing to carry on the legacy.

Mallad came in with his ATM brands enterprise and over 30 years of restaurant industry experience, operating multiple franchise chains, including Little Caesars, Applebee’s, Golden Corral, and many other brands. Mallad was not available for comments at the time of this coverage.
