“The Morrie has been very popular since opening in 2016, but we’re now ready to pass the torch to Blind Owl’s Nicolas Andreasson,” Morrie’s owner, Aaron F. Belen of AFB Hospitality Group, said in a statement according to Detroit News. “Since purchasing the building in 2015, Blind Owl will be my first tenant in the space, and I look forward to supporting their success.”

The upcoming restaurant and bar, Blind Owl, will provide a fusion of Latin cuisine and sushi, as well as a full bar. Some iconic items from the New Baltimore location menu are shawarma nachos, lamb birria, and a wide variety of sushi. The New Baltimore location also features live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. These offerings will continue at the upcoming second location.

“We’ve been looking to expand for a while, and this was the perfect spot. Our goal is to be recognized as the premier destination in Royal Oak for culinary innovation with the freshest ingredients, unparalleled hospitality, and vibrant social gatherings – where every guest feels welcomed, indulged and eager to return,” said Andreasson in the press release, according to Detroit News.

What Now Detroit reached out to Andreasson but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
