The new Starbucks is part of Shoppes of Walled Lake, a new mixed-use development serving Walled Lake, Novi, and Commerce communities. Starbucks will take over a 2,296-square-foot build-to-suit retail building whereas Shoppes are seeking another tenant to take over the remaining 4,784 square-foot space. The site is situated on the northeast corner of Fourteen Mile & Decker Roads and receives an impressive daily traffic of over 18,000 vehicles.

Starbucks, the dominating fast-casual coffee chain, currently has approximately 283 stores in Michigan, with locations in Novi, Detroit, Commerce Township, and other cities in Eastern and Southeastern Michigan. This month, Starbucks announced a new expansion strategy and indicated that “three out of every four new stores over the near term is expected to be opened outside of the U.S.” with an ambitious goal of reaching 55,000 stores globally by 2030.

By the time of this coverage, a representative from Starbucks was not available for comments.
