New owners, the Kesler family, is giving the restaurant’s space a modern facelift with new carpets and upgraded seats, as well as a new paint job. Kasey Kesler, manager and son of the new owner Daryl Kesler, told What Now Detroit that guests can expect the original menu they’ve always loved. “We removed a few items and made some additions, but all the favorites are staying,” Kesler said over the phone.
While the hours of operation are not set in stone yet, Flap Jack will start with breakfast, brunch, and lunch until it is ready to expand into dinner hours. The restaurant is also working on building a new website and social media profiles. According to the State Journal, the Keslers also plan to “rehire many of the people who previously worked at the restaurant.”
