Bruster’s Ice Cream recently signed a new lease for a 1,245-square-foot space inside Riverview Center at 17064-17094 Fort Street in Riverview. Leasing material indicates the ice cream shop has signed a 10-year, triple net lease with the center.
The upcoming location is owned and operated by local franchisee Khalil Moussa. This will be the brand’s first location in Michigan. Moussa told What Now Detroit over the phone that he is currently going through the permitting process to begin construction to renovate and add necessary equipment to the vacant retail space. If everything goes smoothly, Moussa expects to complete construction in the next 4 to 6 months and is aiming to open sometime around the end of this year or the beginning of 2025.
Pennsylvania-based Bruster’s Ice Cream features 24 fresh, rotating flavors made fresh every day in the shop, with a total of 150 ice cream flavors. There are over 200 franchisee-owned locations in 22 states and Guyana, according to the company’s website. The company is actively looking for franchisees in new markets, including Michigan’s Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, according to a LinkedIn post by the company’s VP of Franchise Development, Greg Danziger.
