Plans for the upcoming location first received approval last November and the previous property, which once belonged to a Golden Corral restaurant, has been demolished. According to the plans submitted, the new restaurant will occupy an impressive 5,100-square-foot building with 70 indoor seats, 20 outdoor seats, and a two-lane drive-through.

The new restaurant will be owned and operated by Ryan Weston, whose relationship with Chick-fil-A dates back to his days in North Carolina as Operating Partner for the chain’s Hendersonville location for over two years.

“Ever since my wife and I took an hour-long road trip to the closest restaurant in our early 20’s, I have been a loyal fan and couldn’t be more excited to bring Chick-fil-A to Fort Gratiot. My hope with this restaurant is not only to serve Guests with a smile, but to build a place where the community can gather and to make a truly positive impact on those around us,” said Weston in an email to What Now Detroit.

Having spent a large portion of his professional life in North Carolina, Weston cannot wait to bring his favorite food chain to his home.
